How Do You Drip?

Here's a short informative guide on brewing amazing drip coffee:

1. Equipment needed:

- Drip coffee maker

- Gregular Guys Coffee beans

- Grinder

- Filter (specific to your coffee maker)

- Water

- Mug or carafe

2. Grind your coffee:

- Use a burr grinder to grind your coffee beans just before brewing.

- For drip coffee, a medium grind size is generally recommended. However, you can adjust it based on your taste preferences.

3. Measure water and coffee:

- Follow the recommended coffee-to-water ratio suggested by your coffee maker or experiment to find your preferred strength.

- As a starting point, use 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 ounces (180 ml) of water.

4. Prepare your coffee maker:

- Fill the water reservoir with clean, fresh water. Avoid using distilled or softened water as it can affect the taste.

- Place a paper filter in the designated filter basket of your coffee maker.

5. Add coffee and start the brewing process:

- Add the ground coffee to the filter. Spread it evenly for consistent extraction.

- Close the lid or top of the coffee maker and turn it on to start the brewing process.

6. Brewing process:

- Allow the coffee maker to complete its brewing cycle.

- The machine will heat the water and pour it over the coffee grounds, extracting the flavors and oils.

7. Serve and enjoy:

- Once the brewing is complete, carefully remove the carafe or mug from the coffee maker.

- Pour yourself a cup of freshly brewed drip coffee.

- Add any desired cream, milk, or sweetener to suit your taste.

8. Cleanup:

- After enjoying your coffee, remember to clean your coffee maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.

- Discard the used coffee grounds and rinse the filter basket.

- Regular cleaning helps maintain the performance and longevity of your coffee maker.

With these steps, you can brew a delicious cup of drip coffee. Remember to adjust the variables, such as grind size, coffee-to-water ratio, and brewing time, to suit your preferences and the specific characteristics of your coffee maker. Happy brewing!
